Your complete 2026 guide to adventure days for every age, from the 3-year-old meeting a rescued macaw to the 15-year-old jumping off a glass-floored gondola 300 feet above a canyon.

Picture this: your 5-year-old is hand-feeding a rescued macaw at the animal sanctuary. Thirty feet away, your teenager is strapped into a harness preparing to bungee jump from a glass-floored gondola suspended 300 feet above a canyon. And somewhere between those two moments, the whole family just crossed Mexico's largest hanging bridge on ATVs.

That's a Tuesday at Wild Canyon Adventures. Los Cabos' only complete adventure park has been running family days like that since 2006. Across 115 hectares of Baja desert, canyon, and beach terrain, there's something for every age, all in one location, less than 30 minutes from most hotels in Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.

Who Can Do What

Before you get excited about specific activities, check the physical requirements. Wild Canyon enforces age and weight limits strictly. Nothing ruins a family adventure day faster than arriving and discovering your 9-year-old is 5 pounds under the minimum weight for the zipline. The good news: children start at age 3, and the range is wider than most parks.

The Little Ones:
Bigger Than You'd Expect
Most adventure parks quietly ignore kids under 8. Wild Canyon doesn't.
🦜 Animal Sanctuary (age 3) 💦 Wagoona Aqua Park (age 3) 🐪 Camel Ride (age 4) 🐎 Horseback Ride (age 4) 🌉 Hanging Bridge walk (age 5) 🚣 Paddle Board passenger (age 5)

Animal Sanctuary

Opens at age 3, no weight limit. It's a certified rescue sanctuary. The macaws, parrots, iguanas, turtles, snakes, crocodiles, rabbits, and guinea pigs were rehabilitated from captivity or injury. Your 3-year-old won't just see animals behind glass — they'll be in the middle of it.

Camel Ride & Horseback Ride

Both open at age 4 (minimum 55 lb / 22 kg). There's something about a small child atop a camel against a Baja canyon backdrop that produces the kind of photo you frame and keep forever. The horseback trail passes ancient rock paintings the guides point out along the way.

Pedestrian Hanging Bridge

Age 5, no weight limit. It's the same bridge the ATVs cross. Walking it on foot, looking down at the canyon below, is a genuinely thrilling experience for a child doing it for the first time.

Whale Watching (Seasonal: December to April)

The whale watching tours have no minimum age. A 3-year-old watching a humpback whale breach 50 feet from the boat is an experience that tends to stick for life.

Zipline Tour

8 lines covering 4.5 km across the canyon. The longest runs 815 meters, the longest zipline in Baja California Sur. Swiss steel cables rated to 10 tons. Up to four riders can zip simultaneously on certain lines, which means siblings can race each other across the canyon. The hike between lines is real, 45 minutes of varied terrain over the full tour, so factor that in for energy levels.

RZR Experience

Children from age 5 can ride as RZR passengers. Drivers must be 18+ with a valid license. The route covers desert, arroyo, and beach, including the hanging bridge crossing.

ATV Experience

At 10, the ATV Tour opens for passengers. A parent or older sibling with a license drives while the 10-year-old rides along across beach, desert, arroyo, and the hanging bridge. 1.5 to 2 hours of actual riding time.

Wild Bay Water Activities

Age 10 unlocks independent paddle boarding, surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, and jet ski passenger seats at Wild Bay.

The Teens:
Everything Opens Up
Teenagers at Wild Canyon go quiet in the best possible way.
🐎 Horseback solo (age 13) 🪂 Bungee Jump (age 15) 🌀 Giant Swing (age 15) ⚡ Efoil (age 16)

Bungee Jump & Giant Swing

At 15, the gondola opens. The Bungee Jump and Giant Swing launch from Mexico's only glass-floored gondola, 300 feet above the canyon. The single bungee takes 110 to 220 lb / 50 to 100 kg. The double Giant Swing fits two people between 220 and 396 lb combined, meaning a teenager and a parent can jump together.

Efoil

At 16, the electric hydrofoil surfboard at Wild Bay becomes available. It lifts the rider above the surface of the water. As close to flying on the ocean as it sounds, and not available at most activity operators in Los Cabos.

Frequently Asked Questions

Children from age 3 can participate in the Animal Sanctuary, which has no weight limit. Age 4 opens camel rides and horseback riding as a passenger. Age 5 opens the pedestrian hanging bridge, Wagoona Aqua Park, and beach water activities as a passenger.

What can a 10-year-old do at Wild Canyon in Cabo?

A 10-year-old meeting the 88 lb / 40 kg minimum weight can ride as an ATV or RZR passenger, zipline across all 8 lines, paddle board and kayak independently, snorkel at Wild Bay, ride as a jet ski passenger, and independently operate bikes and one wheels at the park.

What is the best Wild Canyon package for a mixed-age family?

The Wild Canyon Park Pass works well for mixed-age families because each member can choose their own activities at their own pace throughout the day. The Dual Experience and Triple Thrill are better fits for families with more specific goals or shorter time windows.

Can family members do different activities simultaneously at Wild Canyon?

Yes. Wild Canyon's layout is designed for exactly that. The park has a central area with seating, Lions Den restaurant, and views of most activity zones, so the family naturally converges between activities without needing to coordinate tightly.

How long should a family plan to spend at Wild Canyon?

Individual activities run approximately 30 minutes each. The Dual Experience and Triple Thrill are designed for approximately 4 hours including transportation and free park time. The Park Pass is a full day: 6 hours at the park, 7 to 8 hours door to door.

Do adults need to accompany children on activities?

It depends on the activity. For ziplines, camel rides, and horseback rides, children who meet age and weight requirements participate independently with professional guides. For ATV, RZR, and jet ski experiences, children 10+ can ride as passengers but an adult 18+ with a valid driver's license must operate the vehicle.
